When it comes to aging, what we eat plays a major role.

Healthy Foods

Eat well and age less is right up there with get enough sleep and age less.

Unfortunately we have been duped when it comes to healthy oils.

I want to get the word out to anyone and everyone who is interested in slowing down the aging process.

Canola Oil is UnhealthyJust say NO to Canola oil

Maybe you are in shock right now, after all Canola oil has been touted as a healthy alternative. Well it may be a slight step up from some of the absolute worst oil choices, but why replace a super bad oil with a bad oil.

Here is what you need to know about Canola oil:

Frequently and deceivingly mislabeled as Non GMO –There is no such thing as a Canola plant. Canola oil is made from a genetically modified Rape seed. To learn more about the history of Canola Oil read The Invonvenient Truth About Canola Oil Read Easy Way to Stop Aging to learn more on the ageless beauty dangers of eating GMO foods.

Typically extracted under extreme pressure and heat using petroleum solvents. Petroleum solvents are very toxic, which increases free radicals in the body, causing inflammation which accelerates aging and a weakened immune system.

The high heat and extreme pressure can force some of the omega-3 content of canola oil to transform into trans fats. (Harvard researchers have shown that there is no safe levels of trans fats. Trans fats can create any disease by acting like a monkey wrench in the very fundamental “message” chemistry of the cell membrane. For this reason, partially hydrogenated oils which are trans fats, are banned from my house hold)

Another aging aspect of consuming Canola oil that has been processed at high heat using petroleum solvents is that it lowers your DHA 15%. DHA is the most important fatty acid in the brain, cell membranes, and energy-producing mitochondria.

Keep in mind that Alzheimer patients have dramatically low levels of DHA. Low levels of DHA also impair learning and memory.

The only canola oil that is suitable for human consumption is “cold pressed” canola oil. Unfortunately restaurants and processed food companies are not using “cold pressed” canola oil.

Coconut oil

I personally opt to stick with organic cold pressed olive oil and organic cold pressed coconut oil. Click here to read post on coconut oil. I feel they are more nutritious and more powerful when it comes to slowing down the aging process.
